Smooth, Youthful Skin with Juvederm
Over time skin can lose its elasticity, leading to unwanted sagging skin or wrinkles. These annoying signs of aging affect nearly everyone, but can still be embarrassing and unwelcome. Juvederm is an injectable filler made of hyaluronic acid that treats wrinkles and loss of volume in the face. Dr. Wise from the Wise Center for Plastic Surgery in New Jersey is experienced with Juvederm products and is prepared to help you look youthful and radiant with some of the best Juvederm NJ has to offer.
What is Juvederm?
Juvederm is a collection of injectable dermal fillers made of natural materials that help you restore plump and smooth skin to your face. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally-occurring substance in the body that decreases as we age, giving us that deflated or aged appearance. The range of Juvederm products contains hyaluronic acid that replenishes and revitalizes your skin.
Dermal fillers like Juvederm have become very popular as a non-surgical way to lift and smooth the face. Injectable fillers are minimally invasive and don’t require downtime or sutures to achieve your desired look.
Types of Juvederm Injections
The Juvederm formula contains several variations to specifically treat certain areas of the face. Those options include:
Juvederm Voluma XC, Vollure XC, and Volbella XC are is the most commonly used variations of the filler, but Dr. Wise will work with you to determine what type of filler is best for you.
Who is a good candidate for Juvederm?
Because Juvederm utilizes a substance that already occurs naturally in the body, most people tolerate the injections well. Men and women of almost any age or skin type who are unhappy with wrinkles or other signs of aging or skin irregularities can undergo Juvederm treatments.
Expectant or breastfeeding women should not have Juvederm injections until they are no longer breastfeeding or pregnant. Otherwise, anyone in generally good health with realistic expectations can benefit from Juvederm.
What can I expect during Juvederm injections?
The clear gel is injected into your desired treatment area using a small, thin needle for precise distribution. You will not need anesthetic for this procedure because of the small needle and gentle injections performed by Dr. Wise in NJ. You may need multiple injections based on your treatment area and amount of product needed.
The entire procedure can be completed in as little as 15 minutes. The required time will vary, and some treatments can take up to one hour. The procedure is extremely quick and easy, and your smoother, younger-looking skin will be apparent almost immediately
Recovery & Aftercare Following Juvederm
Following your Juvederm procedure, you will require very little recovery time and some patients even return to work the same day. Side effects are mild and will go away on their own within a few days of the procedure. You are welcome to return to work but should avoid strenuous activities for the remainder of the day to facilitate proper healing.
Over the next week or so, your results will continue to improve as any side effects subside. Similar to most other injectable fillers, you should avoid massaging or rubbing the injection site to keep the filler in place while it settles into position. After approximately 2 days the filler should be set and you can rub your face or apply makeup as usual.
Juvederm Expected Results
The naturally-occurring hyaluronic acid used in Juvederm typically produces astounding, natural-looking results. Your results are subtle to enhance your natural features while providing a plumping, smoothing effect. The youthful look can take years off your appearance and generally last for up to one year.
Can Juvederm be performed in conjunction with other procedures?
Yes, a Juvederm treatment can be combined with other procedures. Injectable fillers are a great tool used to either subtly improve your natural features or can enhance the final results of another cosmetic procedure.
Many patients will have Juvederm with another facial rejuvenation procedure like laser resurfacing. It is generally recommended that you undergo your laser treatment before having injectable fillers. The laser treatment may tighten the skin on the face, and you’ll notice that you need less filler. Alternatively, the laser will not disrupt any underlying filler when performed beforehand.
