The procedure for this new injectable is simple. Starting with a consultation, your esthetician will look at your face and ask several questions to determine your treatment goals. When it’s time for your procedure, the esthetician will start by cleaning your face. Next, they’ll use a thin needle to inject small amounts of SKINVIVE into several areas of your cheek. You may feel a small pinch or sting, but the cheek filler procedure doesn’t cause too much discomfort as SKINVIVE contains .3% lidocaine to reduce pain on injection. The entire appointment usually takes 15 to 30 minutes.

Because there is no downtime following the procedure, you can return to work or school immediately following treatment. You may experience mild swelling and slight discoloration at the injection site, which will resolve within 30 days.

It is recommended to avoid strenuous exercise, extensive exposure to sun or heat, and alcoholic beverages within the first 24 hours following injections. Not doing so could result in temporary redness, swelling, or itching at the injection site.
